Introduction
Snap Your Desk is a platform where users share, discover, and vote on desk setups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect
Account Data
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store your email address, name, and profile picture. You may also provide a username, bio, and website link during onboarding.
Content Data
When you create a setup, we store the title, description, and associated product information (up to 20 products per setup). Setup images are uploaded to and stored by Cloudinary.
Engagement Data
We record your votes (upvotes and downvotes) along with timestamps. We also store in-app notifications related to activity on your setups.
AI Analysis Data
When you use the Smart Detect feature, your setup image URL is sent to OpenAI for product identification. The image is not stored by OpenAI beyond the duration of the request.
How We Use Your Information
- Service delivery — Authenticate your account, display your profile, and publish your setups
- Content display — Show setup feeds, search results, and user profiles
- Notifications — Alert you when other users interact with your setups
- AI product detection — Analyze setup images to suggest products when you opt in
- Ranking — Calculate hot scores and sort content based on votes and recency
Third-Party Services
- Google — OAuth authentication provider
- Cloudinary — Image hosting and transformation
- OpenAI — AI-powered product detection from setup images
- Amazon Associates — Affiliate product links (no user data is shared with Amazon)
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Cookies & Session Data
We use a single authentication cookie (Auth.js session token) to keep you signed in. We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies. There are no third-party tracking scripts on this site.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, setups, votes, and notifications — will be permanently removed.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information on your profile
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Request an export of your data

Children's Privacy
Snap Your Desk is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
